Now i get the same exact error at Lync 2013. Does someone know where the binaries are stored? I uninstalled/reinstalled audio drivers, checked the Windows Audio and Windows Audio endpoint services, removed the powersave from usb hubs; no luck. I download Sigma Tel audio driver and got back with sound.
So, USB does not seem like a likely culprit. Reinstalled all drivers without any luck and thenreinstalled operating system. Imagine a scenario when you need to use both Intel Wi-Di techology and Lync 2013 at the same time... So Device Manager says all is well and the rest of Windows says no audio device is installed. I uninstalled the WIUSB devices, restarted Lync, and Lync suddenly is able to detect devices...

I have checked and verified that both Windows Audio and Windows Audio Endpoint services are started. For whatever reason his microphone was disabled in recording properties, when we enabled it the audio started working.
