It's about 4 years old, the GPU is severely outdated for gaming (especially if i want to record videos for YouTube) and the motherboard doesn't support any more than 1333MHz memory Any normal psu should fit and work but you need to know why you are replacing the psu and how to do it, you will also need a basic understanding of Dec 3, 2015 at 9:41 PM #15 Jetster Joined: Jan 17, 2010 Messages: 9,197 (3.51/day) Thanks Received: 5,449 Location: Oregon System Specs System Name: Delta // Alpha-HTPC Processor: Intel i7 6700K check over here

Many people have done PSU replacements with semi-modular PSUs and nonmodular PSUs and it's not the end of the world. Better to upgrade a couple parts at a time and soon you will have a new rig. A good idea would be to get something like the CX600M or CS550M and a compact GTX 970 or R9 380 or GTX 960. Dell Xps 8900 Gtx 1060 For those PCs, you could NOT simply change to an industry-standard ATX power supply.
You may have other cooling issues related to fans rather than the PSU. Quiet and efficient. Having tens of zip ties shooting around in the process doesn't help. 2. Dell Xps 8900 Psu Upgrade Really, the old i7s are very long in the tooth now. Drivers Occasional BSOD on Dell Studio XPS 8100Hello! A 750w should cover it but definitely look into just how many watts you need. I'm sure that if the 500W 80+ costs $68 then some other good budget Bronze PSU can't be over 100. Gtx 960 It's just that the PSU may be lacking in PCIe connectors for example and the cables won't be sleeved, but it isn't going to be a $20 eBay PSU.
great computer (it was!) but a nightmare to fiddle inside. Was it really to much???3) My GPU is so damn loud!!! I got a TX650 for $40 95Viper and rtwjunkie say thanks. have a peek at these guys When you figure out what card you want, do a search for others with your computer model and make sure the card will physically fit in the case.

And i should have increased the core voltage *facepalm* and the drivers are up to date. Trust me, I've seen this happen. My sound system uses more power than my PC.
