Let me know! I have also spoke to Dell customer support about it and they actually sent me a replacement computer, which also had the same problem. I compared to another machine with a properly functioning backlight control, and it's defaulting to a more sane 118 (out of max 976) on it's intel_backlight/brightness value. Finally, can you confirm that you do not see the display adjustment when you manually make the screen dim and then switch between dark and light programs?

As far as I am concerned the ticket is still open. Some Dell support staff claim it will work, but they are wrong. However, they clearly believe it's a problem, otherwise they wouldn't have released a firmware fix for the UHD model. This is especially noticible when terminal got some colored text.

tmadhavan commented Jul 30, 2015 Such a shame that this issue hasn't been (officially) addressed. Cabc Xps 13 Not the answer you're looking for? The bottom line: this is a hardware issue of integrated video card. Not so great with the DBC.
