Has been fine for the last couple of days, will update here if anything goes awry. What happens is that the firmware sets a wakeup timer as soon as the laptop is suspended and doesn't cancel it if the laptop is resumed before it expires. Sorry for this but I have to use my system so I don't have luxury to try one item at a time.
