We have uninstalled McAfee/changed Firewall settings etc, system restore to a previous date, nothing has worked. Resetting the TCP/IP stack did the trick for me. Type 'ipconfig /renew' to obtain a new IP address (whether or not the computer is holding a current address). Actually my kids were playing game on it, and after that the internet was gone.
