my laptop can connect now to the internet. Like your setup a number of other computers easily obtain ip addresses from the router with the same settings as the machine that fails. Weird! But your case may be different and you might have to try some other methods.
A check indicated there is driver issue which block connection to my Linksys EA9200 router. But, as I said earlier I had a computer with this problem recently and was only able to solve it by reloading the operating system.
